Diagnosis
Chest X-ray. CT chest. Biopsy: Non-small cell lung cancer, epithelial tumor, keratin pearls, intercellular bridges (desmosomes).
Symptoms
Cough, hemoptysis, dyspnea, wheezing, chest pain, hoarseness. Weight loss, fever, weakness, cachexia. Hypercalcemia. Dermatomyositis, Acanthosis nigricans. Thrombocytosis, DIC. Dysphagia.
Strong association with smoking. Carcinogens: Radon, uranium, asbestos, arsenic, chromium, nickel, beryllium, silica, environmental air pollution.
